Mission

We are a statewide partnership dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all Nebraskans living with chronic conditions or nearing the end of life. We support the diverse communities that care for them, fostering compassionate, coordinated, and person-centered care across the state.

Programs or services

The Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCA) advances excellence in hospice and palliative care through professional education, advocacy, quality improvement, and public awareness. NHPCA provides continuing education, conferences, certification preparation, regulatory and compliance resources, and clinical best practices to support healthcare professionals and organizations across Nebraska. The Association advocates for policies that improve access to high-quality care, promotes advance care planning through the MyDirectives-Nebraska initiative, and educates the public about hospice, palliative care, and honoring individual healthcare wishes. By fostering collaboration among healthcare providers, policymakers, community partners, and educators, NHPCA works to ensure every Nebraskan facing serious illness has access to compassionate, person-centered care that honors their goals and values

Through education, advocacy, quality improvement, and public awareness, the Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association works to ensure every Nebraskan living with serious illness receives compassionate, high-quality hospice and palliative care while empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their future healthcare.

Target Audience

he Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association serves a broad network of healthcare professionals, organizations, and community partners dedicated to improving serious illness and end-of-life care. Its primary audiences include hospice and palliative care providers, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, chaplains, healthcare executives, hospitals, long-term care communities, home health agencies, and educational institutions. NHPCA also engages policymakers, veterans’ organizations, foundations, corporate sponsors, and community organizations to advance high-quality care across Nebraska. Through public education initiatives, including advance care planning, the Association also serves patients, families, caregivers, and all Nebraska adults by increasing awareness of hospice, palliative care, and the importance of documenting healthcare wishes.
