Scholarships of up to $2,000 to Canada and International zoo and wildlife veterinarians to attend an annual conference hosted by the Funding Source. Priority will go to applicants from developing countries with specific conservation/educational goals and who demonstrate financial need.

Each year AAZV enables practicing veterinarians from developing countries who specialize in the health and welfare of wild and exotic animals to attend their Annual Conference. The program fosters continuing education to those who are helping the animals in countries where zoological medicine is limited. Veterinary professionals from these developing countries have limited access to attend continuing education courses. The conference brings together zoo and wildlife professionals to discuss and present the newest information, and awarded attendees carry home a wealth of knowledge gained to share with their local colleagues. AAZV promotes building in-country veterinary capacity to handle wildlife medical needs, in the belief that this amplifies the efforts of successfully reaching world areas that tend to the sustainability of threatened and endangered animals.

The annual AAZV conference will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, from September 28 to October 4, 2019.
