Awards of $15,000 to Greater Edmonton region, Alberta artists for excellence and contribution to the local arts community. Funding is intended to alleviate working and living expenses to allow exceptional artists time to concentrate on their artistic career and professional development. The Greater Edmonton region includes the City of Edmonton and the counties of Sturgeon, Parkland, Leduc, and Strathcona.

Funding is intended for artists at all stages of their professional careers, in all fields, and any artistic tradition, who demonstrate excellence in their field and commitment to working in and contributing to the Edmonton region's arts community.

The Edmonton Artists' Trust Fund (EATF) is a joint project of the Edmonton Arts Council and the Edmonton Community Foundation. The EATF is designed to invest in Edmonton’s creative community and to encourage artists to stay in our community. The funds are intended to offset living and working expenses, allowing the artist to devote a concentrated period of time to his/her artistic activities, career enhancement and/or development.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nominators must be a member of the local arts and/or cultural community who can speak to the nominee’s merits, ability, and impact in their field.

Nominated artists must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a resident of the greater Edmonton region for at least one year prior to the application deadline. Nominated artists may be asked to provide proof of residency.
- Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.

Artists who have overdue Edmonton Arts Council final reports will not be eligible.

Funds are not intended to support formal academic work or artists who primarily work outside the Edmonton region.

Pre-Application Information:

- Edmonton Artist Trust Fund Award nominations open on August 1, 2019 for the September 3, 2019 deadline.
- Hard copies of nomination letters must be received by mail or in person at the EAC office by 4:30 pm MST on September 3, 2019.
- The remaining items must be uploaded to the EAC online Grants system by 11:59 p.m. on the deadline date

Nomination Deadline: September 1 (when September 1 falls on a holiday or weekend, the deadline is the next business day). The deadline in 2019 is Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
